Chairman Akhuwat Foundation and renowned social entrepreneur and author Dr Amjad Saqib called on Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan at National Hockey Stadium on Friday. During the meeting, Dr Amjad Saqib expressed his ambition to make joint efforts for promotion of sports in the province.
Chief executive of the Lahore Qalandars Atif Rana and head coach Aaqib Javed were also present on this occasion. Chairman Akhuwat Foundation Dr Amjad Saqib also visited different departments of Sports Board Punjab. Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan also presented Sports Board Punjab’s official souvenir to Chairman Akhuwat Foundation Dr Amjad Saqib.
In his briefing on this occasion Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan said that Sports Board Punjab has always taken effective measures for the promotion of sports and welfare of the sports community. “We offered every kind of facility including financial help to Pakistan’s top athletes for their preparation and participation in international sports competitions. Sports Department of Punjab govt had borne all the traveling expenses of Pakistan’s two special athletes Haider Ali and Aneela for participation in the Tokyo Paralympic Games where Haider Ali won gold medal in discus throw event”.
Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan further said that Punjab govt has always offered top level facilities to all talented players of the province. “We will continue to provide every kind of cooperation to all potential athletes for their future national and international events,” he maintained.
Chairman Akhuwat Foundation Dr Amjad Saqib on this occasion offered his full cooperation to Sports Board Punjab for the promotion of sports culture across the province. “We are ready to put in combined efforts for the bright future of sports and quite upbeat that our joint efforts will bear fruitful results in regard to promotion of sports culture across the province”.
Chief executive of the Lahore Qalandars Atif Rana on this occasion lauded the meritorious contributions of Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan for the growth of sports passion among the young generation of the province.
