Sports and Youth Affairs Department Punjab has organized Punjab Mind Sports Masters 2022, the biggest-ever chess tournament of Pakistan’s history which is highly appreciable; this was stated by General Secretary Punjab Chess Association Raja Gohar Iqbal in a statement here on Tuesday.
Raja Gohar Iqbal thanked Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti, Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan and the entire team of Sports and Youth Affairs Department Punjab for organizing the mega chess event in such a successful manner. “The event of Punjab Mind Sports Masters gave us several talented male and female players and we will groom them for future national and international chess events,” he added.
Raja Gohar Iqbal said Sports and Youth Affairs Department Punjab made excellent arrangements for smoothly holding of Punjab Mind Sports Masters 2022 at a large canopy outside the Gaddafi Stadium in Nishtar Park Sports Complex. “We are quite determined that this event will play a major role for the promotion of chess and scrabble among the young generation,” he added.
Raja Gohar Iqbal further said that over 600 male and female players from all parts of country including Chitral, Zhob, Gwadar, Karachi and Dera Ghazi Khan took part in the largest chess event of Pakistan’s history out of which over 130 players were given prizes for their marvelous performance in chess and scrabble competitions.
