Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh said that Sports Board Punjab (SBP) will organize competitions of Fastest Man and Woman of Punjab now in October due to surging cases of Covid-19 pandemic; he said this while addressing a meeting at National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.
The meeting was convened to review the preparations of Fastest Man and Woman of Punjab competitions. Besides President Athletics Federation of Pakistan Maj-Gen (retd) Akram Sahi, the meeting was attended by Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti, Brig (retd) Javed Iqbal and Secretary Punjab Lawn Tennis Association Rashid Malik.
Addressing the meeting, Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh said male and female athletes from all districts of the province will participate in the competitions. “We are pretty confident to find several talented male and female sprinters through these events,” he added.
President Athletics Federation of Pakistan Maj-Gen (retd) Akram Sahi, on this occasion said that Sports Board Punjab under the leadership of Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh is taking effective measures for the promotion of athletics in the province. “We will fully cooperate with Sports Board Punjab for the successful organization of Fastest Man and Woman of Punjab competitions”, he added.
