Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh inaugurated Sports Board Punjab’s 2-month Taekwondo Summer Camp at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall here on Monday.
Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti, Deputy Director Chand Perveen and Assistant Director Anees ur Rehman were also present on this occasion.
Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh was warmly received upon reaching the NPSC Gymnasium Hall and introduced to all participating players. Young taekwondo players exhibited wonderful performances on this occasion. The players of 5 to 16 years of age will be given training under the supervision of qualified coaches.
Talking to media Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh said our taekwondo players have demonstrated excellent performances in international events in the past and won gold medals in SAF Games. “The 2-month camp will be helpful to a great extent in tracing fresh taekwondo talent. As many as 80 boys and girls will participate in the taekwondo training camp”.
Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh urged the camp probables to polish their game through sheer hard work. “The top performers of camp will be given more chances to demonstrate their talent in competitive events. We will also organize under-16, under-18 and under-21 taekwondo competitions in near future”.
Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh further said that Sports Board Punjab is organizing training camps of different games in the first phase. “2-month Summer Tennis Camp is underway at Bagh-e-Jinnah Lawn Tennis Academy while swimming and badminton camps are also being organized in the coming days,” he added.
“In the second phase we will organize championships of different games. Sports Board Punjab is giving equal importance to all games”.
The participating players of the camp while talking to media thanked Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh for providing best facilities in the training camp.
