The Punjab Martial Arts Games organized by the Divisional and District Sports Office Lahore in collaboration with Sports Board Punjab, came to a rousing conclusion with Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) winning the overall trophy here at Nishtar Park Sports Complex.
Wapda was followed by Punjab at second place while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa secured third position. Director General Sports Wapda Saqlain Zahir Raja, Vice Chairman Moy Thai Federation Hafiz Sajjad, Director SBP Hafiz Bhatti, who were the guests of honour distributed prizes among the winners and other participants.
Wapda with 13 Gold and 5 Silver medals secure the top position while Punjab which won 5 Gold, 3 Silver and 6 Bronze was placed second and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for its third place won 6 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Browns medals.
The top three place winners were followed by Police which finished fourth with 2 Gold, one Silver, 8 Browns Medals, Azad Kashmir One Gold, 3 Silver and 6 Browns. Pakistan Railways finished fifth with 3 Silver and 9 Browns medals.
The prize distribution was followed by a special closing ceremony held at the Sports Board Gymnasium Hall. Among the special guests Director General Sports Wapda Saqlain Zahir Raja, Vice Chairman Moy Thai Federation Hafiz Sajjad, Director SBP Hafiz Bhatti, SP Aftab, secretary Jujitsu Association and DSP Mahmudul Hassan Rana also distributed prizes among the players.
Divisional Sports Officer Nadeem Qaiser thanked all participants and teams for making the event a success. Director General Sports Wapda Salaqin Zahir while addressing the event said he was delighted to see the talent of the players. “We hope that the players will highlight Pakistan's name by participating in the World Championships. He also thanked the players for their efforts to showcase their abilities, which has encouraged other the players.
On the final day, in -40 kgs class, Fahadullah won gold, Masab Abdullah won silver, Ammar Aslam and Amir William won bronze medals, in minus 50 kg Arsenal Babar gold, Mazhar Saleem silver, Mohammed Arshad and Ahmed Khalifan took bronze medals,
In -60 kgs, Tayyab Shaban gold, Hasnain silver, Mohammed Usman and Sabel bronze medals. In -65 kgs, Umar Farooq Khan gold, Abdul Basir silver, Majid Khan and Umer Farooq Ramzan bronze.
In 65-plus kg category, Abdullah Ibrahim gold, Mohammed Azmat silver, Khurram Yusuf and Anwar Baloch bronze,
In girls -3m category, Aliza gold, Aqra Atif silver, Noor Fatima and Fatima bronze, in -40kg, Uroj Imran gold, Namra Shah silver, Mafia and Abeera bronze medals.
Zainab Manzoor won gold in 40kg plus category, Uroj Imran silver and Samiya won bronze medals.
Moy Tao 73kg. Gold, Mawaz of Wapda gold, Ali Shan of Azad Kashmir silver, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Kashif and Usman of railways bronze medals.
In 67kg category, Wapda’s Amanat won gold, Shakrullah of Azad Kashmir won silver and Najmuddin of Punjab won bronze medals, Mohammad Kasim of Azad Kashmir won gold in 64 kgs, Baseer of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa silver, Abdul Karim of Punjab and Zulfiqar Khan of Islamabad won bronze,
In 61 kgs, Kamran of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa won gold, Amjad of Islamabad won silver, Policeman Mashal Khan and Mohammad Nabil of Azad Kashmir won bronze medals.
In 57kg category, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Aminullah took gold, Balochistan’s Farman Gul silver, Ismail Khan of Railway and Zulfiqar of Police won bronze medals; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’Jibran won gold in minus 54kg category, Wasim Shah of Azad Kashmir silver, Zeeshan Gul of Railway and Shabir Hussain of Punjab bronze.
In kick boxing Boys, Wapda won first, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and police secured second, Sindh and Punjab won third position. Wapda also took first place in Kickboxing Girls, Punjab was second, Railways got third and police got fourth position,
Mohammed Wasim of Police Gold, Wapda’s Ahmed Shahid had silver in the boy's 51kg category, Railway's Mohammad Suleiman and Sindh’s Osama won bronze medals;
Osama of Punjab won gold in 54kg category, Mohammed Osama of Wapda silver, Fakhr of Balochistan and Osman of Sindh won bronze medals.
In 57 kgs, Abu Bakar of Wapda won gold, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Ans Aslam silver, Khalil of Sindh and Owais of Balochistan won bronze medals.
Ijaz of Punjab won gold in the 60kg category, Imtiaz of Wapda silver, sharoz of police and Waqas of railways bronze.
In 63 kgs, Wapda's Talha Maqbool gold, Abdul Malik of Islamabad silver, Railway's Mohammed Noman and Gilgit's Mazahir bronze medal. In 67 kgs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Ziyad Akbar gold, Muhammad Talha of Wapda silver, Muhammad Sadiq of police and Khalil of Balochistan bronze. In 71 kg category, Wapda’s Haider Ali gold, Ali Zulqarnain of Railways silver, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Aqeel Anwar and Najamuddin of Punjab bronze.
In the minus 75kg category, Ahsan of Wapda won gold, Mohammed Bilal of Sindh silver, Hazrat Shah of Azad Kashmir and Saqib of Gilgit won bronze, while Sawail Fayyaz of Wapda won gold in minus 80kg. Ikram of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Silver, Haider of Police and Zakir Hussain of Islamabad won bronze medals.
Saidullah of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa won gold in the 85kg category, Tariq of police won silver, Juma Khan of Balochistan and Kanwal Tariq of Azad Kashmir won bronze.
In the minus 90kg category, Shahbaz Beg of police took gold, Afzal of Sindh bagged silver, Azad Kashmir’s Gul Mohammad and railway Ijaz Farooq bronze.
In girls’ kickboxing, Sania of Punjab secured gold in the minus 48kg category, Zainab Khatoon of Wapda won silver, Faiza of Azad Kashmir and maryab of police won bronze medal,
In the minus 52kg category. Saba Zaheer of wapda gold, Tania of railways silver, police Sara and Azka of Punjab won bronze medals.
In 56 kgs, Sarib Yousuf of Wapda won gold, Moazooma of Punjab silver, Areej of railway and Sidra of Sindh won bronze.
