Secretary Youth Affairs, Sports, Archeology and Tourism Punjab Ehsan Bhutta has said that Pakistan will get true progress through promotion of tourism along with sports activities. “We are providing best sports facilities to young talented players of the province,” he said this while talking to 23-member delegation of Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development Punjab at Punjab Stadium on Wednesday.

The 23-member delegation of Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development Punjab visited Punjab Stadium under Eight-Week programme ‘Promotion Linked Training of Educational Managers’.

The delegation was comprised of Grade-19 and Grade-20 male and female officers which include Mr Zafar Iqbal, Rana Shabbir Khan, Mr Javed Iqbal Awan, Mr M Jamil, Mr M Aaqil, Dr Ghulam Murtaza Anjum, Mr Ayyaz Tariq, Mr M Arif, Hafiz Ghulam Mujtaba, Mr M Faheem, Mr M Haneef, Mst Tehseen Sadia Sarfraz, Mst Tasleem Akhtar, Mst Tanveer Kausar, Mst Attiya Maryam, Mst Farhat Sultana, Ms Razia, Mrs Lubana Bushra, Mst Rubeena Hussain, Mst Qamar Sultana, Mrs Hajra Sarwat, Syeda Farzana Anjum Sajjad, Mst Shazia Anis.

Director Admin Javed Chohan, Managing Director Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) Tanveer Jabbar, Director Operation TDCP M Asim, Additional Secretary YASAT Iftikhar Ali, Deputy Secretary Sports Tasneem Ali, Director Archeology Maqsood Ahmed, Deputy Director Shahid Nizami and other top officials were also present on this occasion.

The officers of Youth Affairs, Sports, Archeology and Tourism departments briefed the Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development Punjab officers about the major developments and prominent features of their respective departments through documentaries. The officers of Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development Punjab highly appreciated the beautiful documentaries.

The officers of Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development Punjab also visited Punjab Stadium, State of the Art Punjab International Swimming Complex, and SBP E-Library during their stay in Nishtar Park Sports Complex.

Secretary Youth Affairs, Sports, Archeology and Tourism Punjab Ehsan Bhutta warmly welcomed the officers of Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development Punjab. He said Youth Affairs, Sports, Archeology and Tourism Department Punjab is making sufficient arrangements for the visit of students to historical places and memorable tourist sites in Punjab province to keep them aware of their great traditional places.

Secretary Youth Affairs, Sports, Archeology and Tourism Punjab Ehsan Bhutta urged the members of delegation to take children to tourist places to broaden their vision. “Education played key role in transforming a human being into a useful citizen and that’s why we should put our focus fully on giving good education to our kids. Apart from this there is great need to highlight the importance of cleanliness among our children especially when they visit historical places,” he added.

Secretary Youth Affairs, Sports, Archeology and Tourism Punjab Ehsan Bhutta further said that Punjab has great cultural heritage and beautiful tourist resorts and our young generation must visit these attractive sites. “According to latest reports, Pakistan has been declared best country in regard to tourism. We are providing best facilities to tourists at tourism resorts”.

Director Admin SBP Javed Chohan briefed the delegation about sports achievements and activities of Sports Board Punjab. “Sports Board Punjab has established top class sports infrastructure across the Punjab province. As many as 315 sports projects have been completed in different parts of province while 200 are near completion. The sports culture will flourish in the province after completion of these projects”.

Director Admin SBP Javed Chohan further said that the number of sports competitions has been increased in the Punjab province to provide maximum opportunities to young talented players. “We are providing equal sports facilities to all tehsils of Punjab province besides establishing vast sports infrastructure in the province”.

Managing Director Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) Tanveer Jabbar while briefing the delegation said that vast infrastructure has been established to promote the tourism in Punjab province. “Double decker buses will also be introduced in Multan and Bahawalpur to promote tourism. We are also upgrading more tourist resorts in the province”.

Director Operation TDCP M Asim, on this occasion informed the delegation that 39 new tourism projects are being launched in near future. “The tourism industry is not restricted only in Lahore and Murree. Now it is being promoted in all parts of Punjab and more sites are being developed in the province”. 

“The tourist places of Kotli Sattian near Murree, Kallar Kahar, Nankana, Lal Suhanra Park Bahawalpur, Rajanpur, Kot Mithan, Fart Manro, Khushan, Haran Minar, Chakwal, Chhanga Manga, Jallo Park, Patriata will be upgraded”.

While briefing the delegation, Director Archeology Maqsood Ahmed informed that work is under progress on 412 archeological projects in the Punjab province. “The headquarter of archeology is in Lahore while the cities of Taxila, Jhelum and Multan have regional offices”.
