Our blind players have great amount of talent: Vice-Chairman Sports Board Punjab Rao Zahid Qayyum 3-day judo and baseball preparation camp for Pre-Paralympic qualifying round concludes

The 3-day judo and baseball preparation camp for Pre-Paralympic qualifying round concluded here at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall on Wednesday.

Vice-Chairman Sports Board Punjab Rao Zahid Qayyum was the chief guest on the final day at prize distribution ceremony. He also distributed prizes among the prominent players at the training camp.

Deputy Director Shahid Nizami, Assistant Director Raees ur Rehman, President Pakistan Blind Sports Federation M Waqas, General Secretary All-Pakistan Blind Baseball Federation Fakhar Shahzad and a large number of blind baseball and judo players were present on this occasion.

As many as 50 blind baseball and judo players participated in the 3-day preparatory camp organized with the collaboration of Sports Board Punjab. Blind players also demonstrated judo skills on this occasion.

16-member Pakistan blind baseball team will be selected to take part in Pre-Paralympic qualifying round scheduled to be held in Italy while 5-member national judo team (2 male and 3 female players) will feature in Pre-Paralympic qualifying round slated to be held at Nottingham, UK.

While addressing the prize distribution ceremony, Vice-Chairman Sports Board Punjab Rao Zahid Qayyum said Pakistan blind players have great amount of talent. “Blind people are an important part of our society. I’m quite happy to see passion and spirit of blind judo and baseball players. We will provide every kind of facility to talented blind players,” he added.  

President Pakistan Blind Sports Federation M Waqas thanked Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh for extending best facilities during the 3-day training camp.
