Sports Board Punjab (SBP) Vice-Chairman Rao Zahid Qayyum awarded shield and appreciative certificate to top Pakistan bodybuilder Syed Rahat Ali Shah at a ceremony at National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.

The impressive ceremony was organized in recognition of Syed Rahat Ali Shah’s remarkable achievements in the field of bodybuilding. Birmingham-based Syed Rahat Ali Shah emerged winner in British Championship in Men Physique Category and became the first Pakistani to do so in 2018.

Syed Rahat Ali Shah got top position in Sugar Classic 2019 in Leicester which was also a qualifier for Diamond Cup World Championship scheduled to be held in Russia and finished 6th in Arnold Classic World Championship in Spain in 2018. Deputy Director Shahid Nizami, Assistant Director Raees ur Rehman and other officials were also present on this occasion.

SBP Vice-Chairman Rao Zahid Qayyum highly admired the achievements of Syed Rahat Ali Shah saying that we are proud for his feats. “Rahat did really hard work to gain status of a world class bodybuilder and our young boys must take inspiration from heroes like Rahat Ali Shah,” he added.

SBP Vice-Chairman Rao Zahid Qayyum expressed his hope that Syed Rahat Ali Shah will present excellent performance in World Bodybuilding Championship and Arnold Classic World Championship scheduled to be held in Russia and Spain respectively next year.

Syed Rahat Ali Shah, on this occasion, thanked SBP Vice-Chairman Rao Zahid Qayyum and Secretary Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh for acknowledging his accomplishments. “Definitely, it’s great distinction for me to be honoured by Sports Board Punjab”.

Syed Rahat Ali Shah said he became first Pakistani to win British Championship and qualify for Diamond Cup World Championship but never honoured or recognised at any forum. “I will try my best to win World Bodybuilding Championship and Arnold Classic World Championship next year in Russia and Spain for Pakistan”.
