Punjab Minister for Sports, Youth Affairs and Tourism Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said the visit of Sindh Assembly members for a cricket match against Punjab is highly positive development and this kind of matches will help a lot in promoting mutual brotherhood, love and respect among the provinces; he expressed these views while talking to media and addressing the prize distribution ceremony of Inter-Parliamentary Peace cricket match between Punjab and Sindh at Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday.
Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Dost Muhammad Mazari, Secretary Sports Punjab Nadeem Mehboob, Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh and other top officials were also present on this occasion.
The women MPAs namely Rabia Khatoon, Nusrat Sehar Abbasi, Naseem Rajper, Adeeba Hasan, Sidra Imran (Sindh Assembly), Bushra Anjum Butt, Hina Pervez Butt, Sabrina Javed, Aysha Nawaz and Sadia Sohail (Punjab Assembly) also witnessed the cricket match with keen interest.
Punjab Minister for Sports, Youth Affairs and Tourism Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said the friendly fixture between Punjab and Sindh Parliamentarians will play a key role in improving cordial relations between the politicians of two provinces. “Definitely, it’s nice feeling to see Punjab and Sindh Parliamentarians in the cricket ground. Such matches will absolutely play an important role in enhancing brotherhood among the people of two provinces,” he stated.
Punjab Minister for Sports, Youth Affairs and Tourism Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said this kind of matches will be organized among other provinces in future as well.
Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Dost Muhammad Mazari said that the short cricket match between Punjab and Sindh Parliamentarians will play a big role in enhancing mutual love between the people of two provinces. “The match also reflected that Punjab and Sindh are quite close to each other and we all love Pakistan a lot”.
Sindh MPA Nusrat Sehar Abbasi said this match is good gesture and this kind of matches should be played among all the provinces. Other MPAs also termed this cricket as a healthy activity for provincial politicians.
Later, Punjab Minister for Sports, Youth Affairs and Tourism Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti and Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Dost Muhammad Mazari distributed prizes and shields among players of both the teams.
