Punjab skipper Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti receives winners’ trophy Punjab Parliamentarians cricket team topple Sindh MPAs by 35 runs in exhibition cricket match

Punjab Parliamentarians cricket team defeated Sindh Parliamentarians by 35 runs in an exhibition cricket match at Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday.

Captain of Punjab Parliamentarians cricket team Punjab Minister for Sports, Youth Affairs and Tourism Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti received the winners’ trophy while runners-up trophy was received by Sindh team skipper Jamal Siddiqui.

Batting first Punjab Parliamentarians cricket team scored 110 runs for the loss of three overs in the allotted 10 overs while in reply Sindh Parliamentarians could muster only 75 runs for the loss of three wickets.

Members of both the teams demonstrated wonderful sportsman spirit and applauded the best performers of either teams. Naeem Ansari and Rafaqat Ali Gillani were major scorers for Punjab team with 42 and 31 runs respectively. Naeem Ansari hammered one six and seven boundaries in his 18-ball breezy innings while Rafaqat Ali Gillani struck five hits to the fence. Bilal Akbar also scored 10 runs for Punjab. Ali Khurshidi took one wicket of Punjab team while two batsmen were run out.

Asif Mehmood’s unbeaten knock of 41 runs was the major feature of Sindh Parliamentarians innings. He struck seven boundaries in his 28-ball whirlwind knock. Jamal ud Din also managed to reach double figures for Sindh team. Later, Naeem Ansari was declared man of the match. Skipper Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti dismissed Sindh team’s Shahzad Qureshi caught by Dost Muhammad Mazari. Two Sindh batsmen lost their wickets through run out.

Punjab team was comprised of: Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti (C), Rafaqat Ali Gillani (v-c), Naeem Ansari, Bilal Akbar, Dost Muhammad Mazari, Malik Nadeem Kamran, Ali Haider Gillani (wk), Malik Tanveer Aslam, Jahangir Khanzada, Raza Rabera, Sohaib Bharat, Zaheer Iqbal Cheema and Amir Shahani.

Sindh team: Jamal Siddiqui (C), Arslan Taj (v-c), Malik Shahzad, Riaz Haider (wk), Ali Khurshidi, Abbas Jaffery, Asif Mehmood, Shahzad Qureshi, Raja Azhar, Hashim and Abdul Sattar.
