Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar visited Nishtar Park Sports Complex on Saturday. Punjab Minister for Sports, Youth Affairs and Tourism Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti warmly received Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar upon reaching Nishtar Park Sports Complex. Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar distributed prizes among the medal winners and prominent performers of Snooker Team World Cup, Asian Wheelchair T20 Cricket Cup and 72nd Punjab Games.
Snooker players Muhammad Bilal, Asjad Iqbal and Babar Masih were given prize of Rs one lakh each for excellent performance in international snooker events. National wheelchair cricket team was given cash prize of Rs five lakh for defeating India in Asian Wheelchair T20 Cricket Cup final in Nepal in May this year. 72nd Punjab Games’ fastest 100m sprinters Ali Ahmed and Faiqa Riaz got cash prize of Rs 50,000 each while deaf bodybuilder Asghar Ali was also given prize of Rs 15,000 for his marvelous performance.
Punjab Minister for Sports, Youth Affairs and Tourism Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti, on this occasion said that Sports Board Punjab organized Punjab Games and Annual Sports Calendar events after a gap of eight years and revived the true sports culture in the province. Training camps of different games were also organized in various districts.
Secretary Sports Punjab and Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh and other top officials were also present on this occasion.
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar inspected pool and gym at Punjab international Swimming Complex. Secretary Sports Nadeem Mehboob briefed him about various sports projects and facilities. Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar also visited NPSC Gymnasium Hall and Punjab Stadium and reviewed the sports facilities. He also inaugurated E-Library in Nishtar Park Sports Complex. Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar was informed that E-Libraries with all modern facilities have also been launched in 20 districts of province.
