Director General Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar has urged all divisional, district and tehsil sports officers of the province to hold maximum competitive sports events in their respective areas to find promising young players. He issued these directives during an important meeting of divisional sports officers at National Hockey Stadium on Thursday. The meeting was summoned to assess the tehsil level sports facilities in Gujranwala, Sargodha and Rawalpindi divisions. Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti and Divisional, District and Tehsil Sports Officers of Gujranwala, Sargodha and Rawalpindi also attended the meeting. Concerned District Sports Officers briefed the DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar about the current facilities in their respective districts. Addressing the meeting, Director General Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar said holding maximum sports events is the only way to trace potential youth in all games. “It’s also a responsibility of DSOs to prepare data of all talented male and female players so that we can groom them further for national and international events”. DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar also emphasized the need of proper utilization of sports facilities. “Sports Board Punjab has established best sports infrastructure in the province and now it’s up to our young generation to extract maximum benefit out of these valuable sports facilities,” he asserted.
