Secretary Sports Punjab Nadeem Mehboob inaugurates 2nd Quaid-i-Azam Wushu Cup

Secretary Sports Punjab Nadeem Mehboob inaugurated 2nd Quaid-i-Azam Wushu Cup at a colourful opening ceremony at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall. The 2-day exciting event is being organised under the banner of Sports Board Punjab. Chief Guest Secretary Sports Punjab Nadeem Mehboob was warmly received by cadet students upon his arrival at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall. He also unveiled the 2nd Quaid-i-Azam Wushu Cup trophy on this occasion. Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti, Deputy Director Tariq Wattoo, Divisional Sports Officer Nadeem Qaiser, DSO Tanveer Shah, top wushu officials and large number of wushu and darts officials were also present on this occasion. Young male and female wushu players offered excellent performances at the gymnasium hall which was decorated with glittering and twinkling lights.
Talking to media at the opening ceremony Secretary Sports Punjab Nadeem Mehboob said Punjab govt is striving hard for the promotion of all games across the province. “Wushu is an emerging game in Pakistan and it is quite popular among the young generation of the country. The participation of players from all nine divisions reflected the great passion of youth in this game. Punjab is blessed with massive wushu potential and Punjab govt will continue its endeavours to nurture this valuable talent”. Answering a question regarding the future sports events, Secretary Sports Punjab Nadeem Mehboob said: “Punjab govt is planning to host Punjab Games and Pakistan Dangal competition this year. Apart from this, Punjab govt will also host three episodes of 7-Game Coaching and Training camps in the remaining period of on-going year,” he revealed. Replying a question regarding border violation by India, Secretary Sports Punjab Nadeem Mehboob said: “We are a strong nation. We are united to face any situation. The holding of sports events in such a situation is reflected that Pakistan does not have any botheration after so-called border violation by India". The competitions of 2nd Quaid-i-Azam Darts Cup will also be held at the same venue from 10.00am to 4.00pm on Feb 27, 2019.
