Director General Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar awarded complete field hockey gear to Cypruss Hockey Club, Jhelum at National Hockey Stadium. Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti, Deputy Directors Rauf Bajwa, Shahid Nizami, Assistant Director Raees ur Rehman, District Hockey Association Jhelum President Naveed Safdar, Vice-President Tariq Mehmood and captain Cypruss Hockey Club Shahid Aslam were also present on this occasion. DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar awarded 16 hockey sticks, six balls and goalkeeper kit to Cypruss Hockey Club, Jhelum for the promotion of hockey game among U-16 and U-14 hockey players. DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar, on this occasion, said Sports Board Punjab (SBP) will continue to extend every kind of assistance for the promotion of hockey in the province. “Hockey is our national game and Sports Board Punjab will utilize all of its resources for the revival of hockey in the province. This hockey playing gear is being given for the training of young hockey players and we are quite upbeat to find several talented hockey players from various schools”. DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar said hockey is also part of our Annual Sports Programme. “Expert coaches have already been deputed for the top level training to young players in Annual Sports Programme”. District Hockey Association Jhelum President Naveed Safdar and Vice-President Tariq Mehmood thanked DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar for awarding valuable hockey playing gear to young school hockey players.
