Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti makes a major decision for the revival of sports at educational institutions

Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti, on Wednesday, has made a revolutionary decision for the revival of sports activities at educational institutions. It has been made compulsory for every student to take part in at least one game at school or college. In this regard a 5-member committee has been constituted under the leadership of Director General Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar. Special Secretary Higher Education, Special Secretary School Education will be members and Deputy Secretary Admin YASA&T Department will be secretary of the committee.
While talking to media at National Hockey Stadium, Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said the committee, as per the instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan, will devise a proper mechanism to highlight significance of sports for students. It will also chalk out an appropriate strategy to make at least one game mandatory for every student. “The committee has also been given task to identify suitable playfields at schools and colleges for the holding of sports competitions”. Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti informed that the sports period will be revived at schools. “Physical Education (PE) teachers will be hired to train young students in different games. We are launching this programme in govt schools and private schools will be included in this campaign in the next phase”. Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said Punjab govt is determined to make effective efforts to attract young students towards sports activities and revival of sports culture at educational institutions. Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said the schools and colleges are best place where youngsters can learn basics of different games. “It’s top priority of Punjab govt to bring male and female students towards sports from the young age,” he added. Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said: “We will utilize all of our resources to incline young male and female students towards sports events. In this way, we will be able to prepare a large pool of talented players in different games”.
