Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti inaugurates National Senior Women Hockey Championship

Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti inaugurated 30th National Senior Women Hockey Championship at National Hockey Stadium on Monday. As many as 11 women hockey teams from across the country are participating in the championship. Director General Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar, PHF Secretary Shahbaz Senior, Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti, GM Women Hockey Federation Tanzeela Amir Cheema, women hockey official Chand Perveen and a large number of hockey players and enthusiasts were also present on this occasion. All the participating teams and their officials were introduced with Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti and DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar. Before the commencement of championship, Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti and DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar observed March Past of all the teams. Female performers also presented aerobics and other exciting performances on this occasion.
In his media talk, Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said the holding of National Senior Women Hockey Championship will prove to be very beneficial for the promotion of hockey among Pakistan females. “The payers from all parts of country are featuring in this grand event and we are quite upbeat that Pakistan women hockey will get several talented female hockey players after the championship,” he added. Pakistan women have equal right on sports facilities of the country. “We are ready to provide every kind of assistance for the promotion of hockey among womenfolk”.
Replying a question, Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said Punjab govt with the collaboration of Higher Education Commission (HEC) is going to build sports academy in Govt Gulberg Boys College. “Potential students of all leading universities, colleges and schools of the province will be admitted and trained in this academy under the supervision of expert coaches”.
