Sports Department Punjab organized a colourful commemorative ceremony to mark the 71st Independence Day and International Youth Day.

Sports Department Punjab organized a colourful commemorative ceremony with the collaboration of welfare organization BARGAD to mark the 71st Independence Day of the country and International Youth Day. Chief Secretary Punjab Akbar Hussain Durrani was the chief guest on this occasion. Secretary Sports Punjab Ayub Chaudhary also presented a souvenir to honourable Chief Secretary Punjab Akbar Hussain Durrani at the ceremony.
Secretary Sports Punjab Ayub Chaudhary also hoisted the national flag, flew pigeons and cut a cake on this great occasion. He also gave awards to youth icons for their marvelous performance in their respective fields. The youth icons, who received awards were include Shaheer Hasan, Ali Awan, Maryam Batool, Asif Sultan, Ali Raza, Azeem Ikram, Naveed Khan, Aqsa Shahid, Sumbal Arif, Mariam Zaib, Imran Ashraf, Faran Aslam and Salik Ahmed Farooq.
Several artists sang regional and sufi songs and presented cultural dance of all the provinces. A panel discussion was also conducted on this occasion. Various speakers also presented patriotic speeches to highlight the major features of Independence Day and International Youth Day in the ceremony. National Anthem was also presented on this occasion. All the participants of ceremony including dignitaries stood up in respect of National Anthem.
The grand hall was full of a large number of young male and female students of various schools, colleges and universities. The organizers decorated the entire PILAC complex with green and white balloons and colourful eye-catching lights
