The 3rd Moslem Women Sports Games held in Tehran (Iran) from 24-30 October, 2001. 795 athletes in 15 different sports took part in the third edition of the Games from such countries as Iran, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Syria, Azerbaigjan, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Sudan, Bangladesh, Fiji, Gabon, Maldives, Lebanan, Niger, Yemen, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Uganda, Iraq and Afghanistan.
A 46-member Pakistani contingent participated in 4 events including athletics, badminton, swimming and table tennis
